Egyptian goose (Alopochen aegyptiacus) on water. This goose is found around water in the Nile Valley and sub-Saharan Africa. It is an excellent swimmer but spends much of its time ashore, eating plants and occasionally insects. It may reach a length of around 70 centimetres. Males are aggressive, and colonies tend to be noisy and violent, with territorial battles being common. It nests on the ground or in trees, often using nests discarded by other birds.
