Great egret (Ardea alba) swallowing a fish it has caught. This large waterbird inhabits regions near shallow water throughout tropical and warm temperate parts of the world. It hunts either by slowly stalking prey or by waiting for it to come within range of a rapid strike from its sharp bill. It hunts both in water and on land,looking for fish,frogs and large insects.
