Gentoo penguin (Pygoscelis papua) incubating an egg. The female lays up to two eggs and both parents share incubation duties. The eggs hatch after 34-36 days. This penguin breeds on many Antarctic islands including the Falkland Islands,South Georgia,Kerguelen Islands,Macquarie Islands,Heard Islands,South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula.
