Silicon chip implant. Fingers hold a silicon chip transponder prior to implantation. It was implant- ed into the arm of Professor Kevin Warwick, the first human cyborg. The transponder is a glass capsule containing silicon chips & an electromag- netic coil. When Warwick approaches the building where he works a radio signal causes the transponder to transmit a unique code which identifies him. The building then opens doors, switches on lights, turns on his computer and allows him to be easily located. This system could also be used for tagging criminals or as an alternative to bank cards.
