Shuttle Atlantis. American Space Shuttle Atlantis as viewed from the Russian Space Station Mir during docking operations. In the opened cargo bay of the shuttle is the circular Orbiter Docking System (ODS),Spacehab module (at rear of shuttle) and the connective tunnel between them. The ODS is the device used to make the connection between the shuttle and the docking module on Mir. The Spacehab module is used as a space laboratory.
