Shuttle/Mir astronaut training. Astronaut C. Michael Foale being lowered into a buoyancy tank during training for shuttle mission STS-84 at Johnson Space Centre,Texas,USA. He is testing the Russian Orlan space suit in the Weightless Environment Training Facility (WET-F),assisted by several scuba divers. Foale was preparing for a stay as the guest researcher on the Russian space station Mir. Foale replaced Jerry M. Linenger during the joint shuttle/Mir missions STS-84 & Mir-23,lasting from 15th-24th May 1997.
