Two visible light images of 1989N2,a moon of Neptune. The images were made by the Voyager 2 spacecraft with a resolution of 4.2km per pixel. 1989N2 is an irregularly shaped moon, with dimensions of 210km x 190km. The surface appears to be heavilly cratered, some features being 30km to 50km in diameter. The surface reflectance is extremely low at 5%,making 1989N2 one of the darkest objects in the Solar System. The name 1989N2 is temporary,a permanent name will soon be assigned by the International Astronomical Union (IAU). The orbit of 1989N2 has a radius of 73,600km | |
