The range shown is from 23 degrees Celsius (purple),through blue,green and yellow,up to 35 degrees Celsius (red). The sequence runs from top to bottom & from left to right. When the man starts sunbathing his face and arms are cool (30-32 degrees Celsius,top left). After being in the Sun for some time,his face and neck have become hot (35 degrees Celsius,bottom right). Skin can be damaged when not protected from the Sun's potentially harmful ultraviolet rays. Skin cancers & premature ageing are both associated with over-exposure to the Sun
