The image was obtained by injecting a radioactive tracer into the subject which concentrates in the tissues of the CNS. Gamma rays emitted from the tracer are resolved by a gamma camera's crystal scintillator as flashes of light and processed electronically to give a map of distribution of radioactivity in the CNS | |
