Otto Frisch (1904-79),Austrian-British physicist,seen in his costume for a party at Los Alamos in 1945. The party was organised by the 'British Mission',British scientists working on the Manhattan Project to build the first nuclear bomb. The party included a pantomime in which Frisch played the part of a house-maid. The party took place shortly after the end of the Second World War. Frisch had worked in Britain since being forced to leave his native Austria in 1933.
