Outburst from Comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko. Montage of three images from the orbiting spacecraft Rosetta in July 2015,showing an outburst (centre,a jet with a speed of 10 metres per second) from the comet's Anuket region. This comet (67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko) is around 3.5 by 4 kilometres. The European Space Agency's Rosetta spacecraft was launched in March 2004 and entered orbit around the comet on 6 August 2014. It carried instruments and a lander to map and study the comet's surface and core. Images obtained on 29 July 2015 (at 13:06,13:24 and 13:42 GMT) at a distance of around 186 kilometres
