In January 2005 a severe storm hit Cumbria with over 100 mph winds that created havoc on the roads and toppled over one million trees. The event lead to severe flooding in many parts of cumbria. Here lorries are blown over on the M6 motorway near Shap. As global warming takes affect we can expect more of these severe weather events | |
