John Macready (1887-1979,left) and Oakley Kelly (1891-1966,right),US test pilots. On the 5th October 1922 Macready and Kelly set a new world endurance record when they flew for a total of 35 hours,18 minutes and 30 seconds. In 1923 they set achieved three firsts with one flight. Their flight from New York to California was the first non-stop coast-to-coast flight as well as setting a new single cross-country flight distance record.
