Galaxy cluster. Composite image showing a cluster of galaxies known as ISCS J1434.7+3519 (red dots, centre). This cluster lies around 9 billion light years from Earth and includes more than 100 massive galaxies, some of which are forming stars hundreds of times faster than Milky Way galaxy. The large white and yellow dots are stars in the Milky Way,whilst the rest of the smaller dots are other distant galaxies. Image composed of optical data (blue and green) from the Kitt Peak National Observatory and infrared data (red) from NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope | |
