The Kinnvika station was built for the International Geophysical Year 1957-58 by a Swedish-Finnish-Swiss expedition. The research centre could accommodate up to 15 people. It last operated in 1959 but plans for restoration are underway as part of Svalbard's heritage preservation. Nordaustlandet,Svalbard,Norway | |
