Methylcobalamin. Molecular model of the enzyme cofactor and vitamin methylcobalamin (C63.H91.Co.N13.O14.P). It is a cobalamin,a form of vitamin B12. Like all forms of this vitamin,it has an octahedral cobalt (III) centre (glowing blue lower centre). In medicine,it is used to treat conditions caused by vitamin B12 deficiency. Vitamin B12 is a water-soluble vitamin with a key role in the normal functioning of the brain and nervous system,and for blood formation.
