Von der Decken's sifaka (Propithecus deckenii) in a tree. This lemur is found in western Madagascar. It feeds on flowers, leaves and seeds. All lemurs are endemic to Madagascar, where they evolved in isolation from other primates after Madagascar became geographically isolated from Africa. Many lemur species are becoming increasingly rare due to habitat destruction. Photographed in Tsingy de Bemaraha,Madagascar | |
