Northern gannets (Morus bassanus) breeding. This seabird is migratory and spends the winter at sea in the North Atlantic. It returns to land to breed,where it congregates in large colonies. It feeds on fish,plunge-diving into the water from great heights. Photographed at the gannet breeding colony at Troup Head in north-east Scotland in spring.
