Saturn's moon Dione,false-colour composite Cassini image. This image is based on ultraviolet, green and infrared data. The colour differences on the surface are thought to be due to variations in surface texture and composition. Dione has a diameter of 1130 kilometres and is the densest of Saturn's moons. The Cassini-Huygens spacecraft was launched in 1997 to investigate Saturn, its rings and its moons. Images taken on 1st August 2005 | |
