FIREBLIGHT (Erwinia amylovora) on apple (Malus sp.). This is a bacteria infection of plants in the Rosaceae and mainly in the sub-family Pomoideae (the stone fruits). The tip of the branch bend over like a shepherd's hook characterizes this disease. The leaves appear dark brown or black and remain on the branch as though they were burnt. Removing infected branches during dry weather will help to control this disease | |
