Underwater view of northern gannets (Morus bassanus) diving for fish. The gannet is a large seabird that lives around the North Atlantic Ocean, breeding on isolated rocky islands around northern Europe and eastern Canada. It feeds on fish, which it catches by diving from height into the sea. It may reach speeds of 100 kilometres per hour in such dives, and can chase fish to depths of more that 15 metres. Filmed off Noss, Shetland Islands, UK. | |
