The Dune of Pilat, a type of dune known as a foredune, is the tallest sand dune in Europe, reaching a height of over 100 metres. It measures 2.7 kilometres in length and is 500 metres wide. It is located on the Atlantic coast of the Aquitaine region of south-western France.
